LETS! T.A.L.K.
(Teach, Affirm, Learn, Know)
A body-positive, inclusive curriculum for people ages 5-10
This curriculum is designed to be taught in school classrooms, as extracurricular after-school programming or at home with families.
The LETS! T.A.L.K. curriculum uses a learner-centered approach, whereby students learn and construct their own knowledge based on their own lived experience, social interactions, and input from their environment. A learner-centered approach encourages students’ active participation and use of reflective practices to think critically about their own lives.
The LETS! T.A.L.K. program is grounded in a liberatory framework that is queer and trans affirming, anti-racist and body-positive. It integrates medically accurate content focused on increasing body literacy with discussion and activities that support self-discovery and collective learning. The resources and activities reflect diverse peoples; skin colors; and cultures and incorporate messaging that offers a liberatory framework by introducing classroom practices and communication strategies that promote anti-racism, body-positivity and shine a light on what are often unconscious assumptions and biases. In this way, the LETS! T.A.L.K. curriculum is a great accompaniment to lessons and classroom practices that focus on anti-racism.
We recognize how rapidly language, resources, and science changes – to ensure that this program remains current, we are committed to updating the curriculum annually.
